Typically, homeowners will gravitate toward ceramic or porcelain tiles for their shower, as they are an aesthetically appealing option. However, these types of tiles are made from natural materials. As such, they have a propensity to absorb water over time. If you are set on using these types of tiles for your shower, it is essential to ensure they are glazed beforehand. The glazing not only prevents the tiles from absorbing water, but it also protects them from superficial damage such as scratches or staining. Glazed tiles are also easier to clean since they will not absorb dirt every single time that you take a shower. This make them a convenient option for homeowners who would like a low maintenance option.
